Digital Skills Trainer

JOB PURPOSE

If you’re enthusiastic about digital skills and enjoy helping others learn, this could be a fantastic opportunity for you. You’ll be part of our welcoming and fast-paced Innovation & Technology (I&T) team, supporting new colleagues as they settle in and helping existing team members make the most of our technology tools. You’ll be responsible for delivering training, contribute to creating engaging learning content, and support the team with coordination and admin tasks. You’ll also get hands-on experience testing and supporting the rollout of new software — a great chance to grow your own digital expertise while making a real impact.

CORE TASKS

• Support the planning and delivery of digital skills training sessions, including collecting and reviewing participant feedback.

• Assist with a variety of team projects and activities, contributing ideas and helping with coordination.

• Help colleagues use a range of software applications confidently and effectively.

• Identify digital skills gaps and support the team in developing solutions to address them.

• Maintain and update training records, materials, procedures, and guidance to ensure consistency and accuracy.

• Follow Brodies’ information security policies and contribute to a culture of safe digital practice.

• Stay familiar with the induction programme and deliver one induction session per month to maintain confidence and continuity.

You’ll need to be confident using technology and have some relevant IT experience to thrive in this role. A good understanding of how people learn digital skills — or a strong interest in developing that understanding — is essential. We’re looking for someone who’s eager to learn, happy to share knowledge, and enjoys helping others grow. You’ll also be a clear communicator with excellent people skills and a positive, initiative-taking attitude. If you have teaching or training experience in another area and are keen to move into digital skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Be aware of Brodies’ information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly and approachable style.

• Well-organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.

• Professional and positive attitude, with an initiative-taking approach to learning and supporting others.

• Able to manage time efficiently and work independently as well as collaboratively.

• Strong digital and administrative skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

SKILLS

• Experience using a learning management system (LMS) is desirable.

• Familiarity with time recording and document management systems is desirable.

• Experience creating online learning materials or guides is preferred.

• Confidence and willingness to teach and present online is desirable.

• Experience of working in a legal environment would be desirable but not essential.

• We welcome applicants with teaching or training experience in any field who are keen to develop their digital skills. While some experience in digital skills or a training-related role is preferred, it’s not essential.
