We are looking for a Digital Strategy & Transformation Consultant to join our growing Digital Advisory team, based in London.

This role would suit a candidate with an enterprise architecture background, ideally with experience in asset-intensive sectors.

Your next role

Buro Happold’s Digital Advisory team focuses on delivering technology and information transformation to clients to enhance their financial, environmental, and social performance (the triple-bottom-line, across people, planet and places).

Our projects vary considerably; from defining the smart city technologies that will transform the resident, worker, or visitor experience of a bleeding edge city in the middle east, to developing a sophisticated data-driven 3D twin of a university campus to determine the most effective route to net zero carbon, to outlining how technology can add significant revenue streams across football clubs in the UK, to defining the team, processes and policies required for our clients to manage data quickly and securely. However, all our projects have engineering or ‘real-world’ asset expertise at their core and it is that, with our relentless focus on the triple-bottom-line, that makes us unique.

The team works across a range of consulting areas covering digital strategy and transformation, digital systems and solutions and data and analytics. We are looking for consultants who want to collaborate with other offices, our experts in design, and technologists internally and externally to make a real-world difference.

Key Duties

• Management of workstreams (large projects) or engagements (small projects) from outcome definition, activity planning to successful delivery and knowledge capture
• Manage (plan-do-review) workstreams across areas such as digital strategies and change programmes for some of the world's most iconic projects and clients, including running workshops, developing roadmap and vision, defining solution designs, conducting research, drafting deliverables, delivering steerco presentations, developing and delivering process, governance, organisation and procurement changes plus more
• Development of digital strategy and transformation tools, templates and artefacts to allow the approach to be communicated, planned, or implemented more effectively.
• Design and facilitate effective client workshops to accelerate current understanding, identify opportunities, and build consensus across a broad set of stakeholders.
• Build trusted relationships with clients based on credibility and active listening.
• Manage and develop others on and off projects.
• Support continuous development of digital advisory services and go-to-market offers.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to deliver high quality outputs that are tailored to the client's business.
• Support business development and specifically the creation of innovative proposals.
• Build new skills and strengthen your expertise with training and support.

Your skills & experience

Essential

• Background in Digital Strategy, Digital Transformation or Data Strategy.
• Some experience with project management and/or consulting methodologies e.g. MSP, Design-led thinking or others.
• Experience leading projects or workstreams with client or customer interaction.
• A strong interest in the use of technology in business and urban transformation.
• Specific experience, content knowledge and practice in at least one of innovation, digital strategy development, business case development, digital procurement, enterprise or IT architecture, operating models and organisation design, program advisory, governance or information management.

Desirable

• Understanding of construction process and/or experience within built environment.
• Working knowledge of TOGAF enterprise architecture framework and Agile delivery principles.
• Understanding of IT/OT convergence, industrial automation, grid automation, or utility automation environments.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management across operational technology domains.
• Systems thinking approach to complex technology ecosystems.
• Experience in developing enterprise architecture frameworks that bridge IT and OT domains.
• Experience in any of cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory compliance across organisational technology landscapes.
• Relevant digital or business (CA, ACA, MBA) professional qualification.
