Purpose of the Role:
As a Digital Visualisation Design Engineer, you will play a key role in creating high-quality visual content to support design development, stakeholder engagement and business development across the built environment.
Working alongside senior engineers and the wider design team, you will produce 3D models, still imagery, animations and digital storytelling tools that align with Galliford Try’s standards and Business Management System. This is a highly creative and technical role, ideal for someone passionate about blending engineering and digital visualisation.
You’ll also support continuous improvement in digital tools and processes and help develop junior members of the team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Produce 3D models, animations and renders to support design and project delivery
- Deliver digital rehearsals, construction sequences and induction animations
- Work closely with Principal and Senior Engineers on complex visualisation packages
- Use CAD and engineering information to create visual storyboards
- Maintain and develop a visualisation asset library
- Ensure outputs align with GT standards and branding guidelines
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency and innovation
- Mentor Graduates and Assistants within the visualisation team
- Contribute to visualisation cost settings and resource planning
- Assist in identifying opportunities for additional work streams
- Carry out project checks and quality reviews
- Identify engineering clashes and raise design coordination issues
Systems & Software:
Experience or working knowledge of:
- 3ds Max
- Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
- Unity or rendering engines
- Civil 3D / Revit
- 4D planning tools (e.g. Synchro)
- Real-time rendering applications
Additional experience in any of the following is advantageous:
- Coding or scripting
- Game engines
- Character modelling
- Advanced lighting techniques
- Virtual Reality (VR)
About You:
You will combine technical competence with creativity and strong communication skills. You’ll work well within multidisciplinary teams and demonstrate an eagerness to learn and evolve with digital innovation.
You will have:
- Experience delivering visualisation projects end-to-end
- A strong portfolio of digital visualisation or engineering design work
- Knowledge of BIM and CAD systems
- A good understanding of engineering principles
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively
- A collaborative, proactive approach
- Degree-level education in a relevant discipline (desirable)

About The Team
Central Engineering Services is an in-house team providing engineering capability to the wider business. Acting as an internal consultant providing a high-quality service, the Central Engineering Services team deliver alternative solutions, value engineering, buildability and problem/defect resolution including specification compliance issues. The team also provides design and design checking services for a full range of temporary works requirements from excavations and working platforms to formwork, falsework & scaffolding.
