Job Description
KPMG UK is seeking a Director to join the leadership of our cross-industry Data & AI team as a healthcare leader. You will bring extensive experience, a passion for client service, and a strong record in sales, entrepreneurship, and team leadership. This role suits someone who thrives on building client relationships, delivering high-profile projects, and developing junior talent, while collaborating with technology partners and multiple organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior healthcare leader, shaping and delivering data and AI solutions for NHS and healthcare clients, always with a focus on exceptional client service.
- Lead high-profile, complex programmes such as NHS Federated Data Platform, NHS Wales National Data Resource, Single Patient Record, Foresight AI, NHS Research Secure Data Environment Network, and similar.
- Provide visible leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members, fostering growth, learning, and a client-first culture.
- Build and manage relationships with senior NHS stakeholders, alliance partners (Microsoft, Google Cloud, Databricks, Palantir Foundry), subcontractors, consortiums, and internal service lines.
- Drive business development through outstanding bid writing, bid management, and proven sales success.
- Oversee delivery teams, ensuring technical excellence and translating complex ideas into actionable insights for clients.
- Stay current with modern data technologies and AI, ensuring compliance with NHS governance and delivering real client value.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Extensive expereince in data, analytics, and/or AI, with significant NHS or UK health sector experience.
- Track record on high-profile, large-scale projects (e.g., NHS Federated Data Platform, National Data Resource, Single Patient Record, Foresight AI, Global Digital Exemplar, or similar).
- Exceptional sales, bid writing, and bid management skills – with a proven track record of success
- Hands-on experience with cloud and analytics platforms, especially Palantir Foundry, Microsoft, Google Cloud, and Databricks.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop junior talent and work collaboratively across organisations and service lines.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and translating technical topics for diverse audiences.
- Deep understanding of NHS data governance and compliance.
Desirable
- Certifications in relevant cloud/data platforms.
- Experience with digital transformation, federated data, or national data/AI programmes.
- Familiarity with AI/ML regulatory and implementation challenges in healthcare.
