About the Role
Dataswyft is redefining the digital economy through self-sovereign data infrastructure, enabling individuals and organizations to own, control, and use their data through programmable self-custodied data assets. We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Legal & Data Compliance to ensure that our software products, platforms, and commercial operations are governed by robust legal frameworks and fully compliant with evolving data protection laws worldwide.
This role will be pivotal in shaping the legal architecture of our data wallet platform, smart data economy tools, and international expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities
**⚖️ Legal Strategy & Product Governance*

- Own and update platform terms of service, privacy policies, software license agreements, and other legal documentation to ensure legal robustness across jurisdiction
s.- Advise product, engineering, and business teams on legal risks and contractual obligations during feature development and partnership
s.- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor, partner, and data-sharing agreements

🌐 Global Data Protection & Regulatory Complianc
- Ensure full compliance with global data regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, and other local laws where Dataswyft operate
s.- Build and maintain data governance policies, including data classification, retention, and deletion practice
s.- Maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), conduct DPIAs, and respond to regulatory inquiries and audits

🛡 Risk & Compliance Managemen
- Establish a proactive risk management and internal control framework aligned with legal and regulatory requirement
s.- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting Dataswyft and ensure timely implementation of necessary change
s.- Work with external counsel across jurisdictions to address country-specific obligations and minimize exposure

📚 Education, Governance & Polic
- Develop and deliver training programs to internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matter
s.- Serve as primary internal advisor on IP, licensing, platform governance, and data rights issue
s.- Contribute to board and investor reporting as needed on compliance matters

Qualificatio<
- Law degree with active legal qualification (UK, EU, or common law jurisdiction preferre
d)- 8+ years experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably in SaaS, fintech, healthtech, or data infrastructure compani
es- Deep knowledge of global data privacy regulations and tech law (GDPR, CCPA, PDPA, HIPAA etc
.)- Experience drafting and negotiating complex digital, licensing, and data-sharing contrac
ts- Strong understanding of digital product development and platform business mode
ls- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate legal concepts for cross-functional tea
