Bryson Charitable Group is seeking to appoint an experienced Director of Business Development to lead and implement strategies that drive growth, sustainability, and impact for the organisation. This role focuses on identifying and securing new funding opportunities, cultivating relationships with potential donors, partners, and stakeholders, and expanding Bryson’s reach. The successful individual will require a deep understanding of both the non-profit landscape and effective business strategies to secure long-term success and amplify the organisation's positive impact.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership in Fundraising: Drive the achievement of significant philanthropic goals, with a target of £10 million in two years and £20 million in five years. Secure long-term funding from international and local markets, including London, Dublin, and the US.
- Contract Acquisition and Impact Delivery: Secure and successfully execute large-scale contracts that align with Bryson’s mission and strategic objectives. Ensure all contracts result in measurable impact, enhancing Bryson’s reputation, reach, and ability to drive meaningful change.
- Advocacy and Misson: Champion Bryson’s commitment to ending poverty and act as an ambassador for Bryson on the international stage, fostering strategic alliances and opportunities.
- Leadership Development and Succession Planning: Build a reputation as a visionary leader, contributing to the organisation’s strategic direction and sustainable leadership framework. Demonstrate the potential to grow into future leadership roles, including consideration for the CEO position, ensuring long-term stability and success for Bryson.
- Relationship Building and Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate, build and strengthen high-level partnerships with influential international leaders / CEOs, government leaders, prominent philanthropists, and academic leaders. Represent Bryson in all high-level negotiations and collaborations.

Length of Contract: Permanent
Salary: DOE
Hours: 35 hours per week
Holidays: 42 days annual leave (inclusive of 12 statutory days)
Probationary Period: 6 Months
Notice Period: 3 months

Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to win and execute multi-million-pound contracts with measurable results.
- Proven track record in senior executive roles, demonstrating strong decision-making and leadership capabilities.
- A strong track record of success across global markets, particularly in London, Dublin, and the US.
- Exhibits a relentless drive to achieve goals and a deep commitment to Bryson’s mission of ending poverty.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Likely based in Northern Ireland but fully prepared to travel extensively to strengthen Bryson’s international presence and partnerships.
