Development Director – Joint Venture Partnerships and Strategic Land

A leading investor and developer in the living sector are seeking to appoint an experienced Development Director to lead the delivery of residential-led joint venture projects across the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to shape and drive a high-impact development strategy, overseeing the full lifecycle of complex residential schemes—from land acquisition and planning through to delivery and exit. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing and structuring joint venture partnerships, coordinating pre-development activity, and delivering commercially successful, high-quality housing developments that align with the client’s strategic growth ambitions.
The Development Director will lead a multidisciplinary team, and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners including landowners, local authorities, housing associations, and institutional investors. The role requires a strategic and commercially astute leader with a proven track record in:
- Land acquisition and strategic site identification
- Securing planning permissions and managing planning risk
- Structuring and managing joint venture partnerships
- Negotiating land sales and housing association transactions
- Leading pre-development coordination and feasibility analysis
