Director of Global Philanthropy
Are you a dynamic and visionary fundraising leader with a global mindset? Do you want your work to make a direct impact on saving lives, restoring livelihoods and rebuilding communities in our conflict-torn world?
The HALO Trust, the world’s largest humanitarian landmine clearance organisation, is seeking a Director of Global Philanthropy to lead and expand our global philanthropic programme. HALO's philanthropic income has skyrocketed—from £4 million to £44 million in five years —fuelled by powerful partnerships and bold strategic ambition. We're just getting started.
The Role
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving HALO’s global fundraising strategy. You'll lead a talented team of philanthropy professionals, nurture high-level donor relationships, and guide HALO’s expansion into new philanthropic markets, including the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading global strategy for major gifts, corporate partnerships, and foundation funding
• Personally managing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors, with a focus on seven-figure+ gifts
• Expanding HALO’s reach through mass market giving pilots and global campaigns
• Collaborating closely with HALO’s UK Board, Ambassador Group, and executive leadership
• Overseeing and mentoring a growing team of 18 fundraisers and support staff
What We’re Looking For
We're seeking a seasoned, entrepreneurial fundraising professional with:
• Proven success in securing major philanthropic gifts—ideally at the 7- and 8-figure level
• Experience working in global or complex organisations (NGO or nonprofit preferred)
• A strategic mind and hands-on approach to team leadership and donor engagement
• Deep understanding of international philanthropic trends and regulatory frameworks
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and cross-cultural engagement skills
