Director Of Operations - KYC & Transformation

London – Hybrid / Fully Remote

£150,000 + bonus

We are working with a global, technology-led financial services organisation operating in the FX and international payments space, supporting a diverse portfolio of B2B customers ranging from growth-stage businesses to large, complex enterprises.

They are looking for a Director of Global KYC Operations & Transformation to lead enterprise-level KYC/KYB operations across multiple jurisdictions.

You’ll be at the centre of a three-way partnership between Operations, Compliance and Product, shaping global onboarding strategy, driving digital transformation, and running complex onboarding operations for high-value B2B customers.

What You’ll Own

Run-the-Bank & Operational Excellence

Oversee daily KYC/KYB operations across regions, ensuring SLA, KPI, and quality compliance

Resolve complex escalations, including high-risk onboarding and regulatory matters

Maintain operational metrics, manage budgets, and optimise cost-to-serve

Ensure robust operational controls, risk management, and continuous improvement

Transformation, Product & Technology

Lead digital transformation initiatives: automation, AI-driven screening, data analytics, and digital onboarding
Partner with Product and Technology teams on roadmap design and adoption of new systems
Embed KYC requirements into customer journeys while minimising friction and supporting commercial goals
Drive process improvement and root-cause problem-solving using data-driven insights
Work with modern onboarding/KYC vendors and platforms to enhance operational capability

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Leadership

Ensure compliance with global and local AML/KYC regulations
Support audits, regulatory examinations, and remediation programmes
Partner with Compliance to implement policy and regulatory change across operations

People Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams (~40 staff across multiple regions)
Directly manage 4–6 senior leaders, including succession planning and workforce strategy
Set standards for accountability, collaboration, and performance across the function

Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and governance forums
Build strong partnerships with Compliance, Product, and external stakeholders
Represent the function to regulators and banking partners

What We’re Looking For

Extensive senior leadership experience in KYC/AML/Financial Crime, including entity (KYB) onboarding
Proven experience managing multi-region, complex onboarding operations
Strong track record in transformation, including automation, digital onboarding, and data-driven change
Comfortable operating in a product-led, technology-enabled environment
Commercially minded: understands cost-to-serve, customer experience, and operational efficiency
Experience with enhanced due diligence, complex ownership structures, UBO analysis, and high-risk B2B customers

Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills

Experience in fintech, payments, or product-driven financial services is a must.
