THE ROLE

The Director of Product plays a key leadership role in the company and is responsible for delivering a clear and compelling product vision and strategy for the industry-leading Nuke family of compositing, timeline and review tools as well as developing future-looking strategy to solve the challenges of creatives from VFX planning to virtual production and compositing, that will lead to ambitious, yet sustainable, growth.


In this role you will be a product champion, both internally and externally, and have the ability to deliver across all areas of product management. In addition to developing and communicating a clear product vision, you will have the drive to make that vision a reality working closely with the product, development and go to market teams. You must enjoy spending time in the field being an evangelist for the product line, understanding and anticipating current and future customer problems and delivering innovative ideas and solutions to our customers.


You must be a product leader who is passionate about building a high performing product management team; you know that you thrive when your team excels. You must know how to prioritise, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence through building key partnerships with technology and business leaders, leading by influence across the wider business.


You will play a key role in enabling our product teams to deliver value at pace and scale, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years leading product strategy and delivery for B2B software, ideally owning a product category in a product leadership role (CPO, VP, Director, Lead, Principal or equivalent product management role) in the M&E/Creative Tools space.
  • 5+ years building and leading product teams or creative/technical teams with at least 4 direct reports
  • 5+ years of experience translating customer needs into successful product roadmaps with a track record of adoption and growth
  • Experience in VFX or animation software, especially compositing and image processing, or adjacent workflows or market verticals (Editing, Broadcast, Live Events, AEC, Fashion, etc) desired
  • Familiarity with Nuke and its competitors and partner tools a plus (Resolve, After Effects, etc)
  • Excellent analytic and critical thinking capabilities with strong technical aptitude and the ability to make decisions based on both quantitative data and qualitative insight
  • Proven product management leadership experience identifying market opportunities and bringing innovative products to market
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence across technical and non-technical teams and successfully deliver on a complex product roadmap
  • Strong sense of urgency and impatience infused with infectious enthusiasm to drive execution and shared vision across teams
  • Demonstrated excellence in the areas of customer insight and product innovation; proven ability to use competitive intelligence, market research and customer feedback and convert that into successful products
  • Demonstrated experience in the agile software development process
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Operations
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presentation, verbal and written skills


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership:

  • Oversees the entire product lifecycle from product discovery to product strategy, development, successful delivery and ongoing adoption efforts.
  • Develop a compelling, differentiated strategy and vision for the Nuke family through gaining a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, in line with company strategy and objectives, ultimately creating value for existing and potential customers; growing the business and improving the customer experience.
  • Turn that strategy into actionable product roadmaps, partnering with Engineering leadership to ensure the teams have the direction, context, and ongoing feedback required to consistently test, develop and release product roadmaps at pace
  • Instigate and lead market research and discovery activities with support from the product management team. Document and communicate customer feedback, market trends, and competitor product and technology analyses with the technology teams, Senior Leadership team and at an Exec level.
  • Collaborate with senior Product and Engineering leaders across Foundry to identify, validate and refine plans for research-led extensions and new products, supporting productization and launch of new extensions to the Nuke family
  • Responsible for product group communication to all stakeholders, providing regular updates on development and delivery of product plans to Exec team and Senior Leadership group
  • Develop clear product positioning and messaging on product vision and direction, communicating this vision both internally and externally, acting as the product champion
  • Acts as escalation point and final decision maker on all things related to the products, removing blockers and resolving conflict across teams as needed
  • Identifies key risks, creates and oversees the execution of action plans to effectively manage risk to product and commercial plans, escalating major market, development or operational issues.
  • Leads the creation and maintenance of market and product group documentation, business cases, plans, positioning, and pricing, as well as release copy, sales enablement tools, and thought leadership content to be used both internally and externally
  • Supports the Product Managers working with the Sales and Marketing teams to define and execute the GTM strategy
  • Contribute to the ongoing assessment of future technology trends, opportunities, and threats, informing the overall product strategy for the wider portfolio
