I'm partnering with a highly regarded, multi-disciplinary consultancy that is seeking a Director of Transport Planning to join its growing Birmingham team. This is a senior leadership appointment driven by sustained growth within the Development Planning division.

Reporting directly to the Birmingham-based Discipline Lead, you'll take on a strategic and influential role-providing technical direction, leading high-profile projects, developing talent, and helping to drive continued business growth across the region.

The Role

You'll lead a diverse portfolio of development-led transport planning projects, including residential, commercial, education, retail, leisure, and renewable energy schemes. Alongside project delivery, you'll play a key role in mentoring the team, shaping local strategy, and strengthening client relationships.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Technical oversight and delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans
• Strategic project leadership across multi-sector developments
• Team leadership, mentoring, and capability development
• Supporting business development and work-winning activities
  
  

About You

• Strong consultancy background in development-related transport planning
• Proven experience leading projects and managing key client relationships
• In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system
• Track record of mentoring or managing transport planning teams
• Commercially aware, with confidence in winning and growing work
