Disrepair & Claims Coordinator to join our team and ensure that tenants impacted by major disrepair receive the support they need, coordinating all aspects of their cases from assessment to completion.
About The Role
As a
Disrepair & Claims Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing complex disrepair cases that require significant works or tenant decants, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience for tenants impacted by major disrepair, coordinating all aspects of the process from initial assessment through to completion and re-occupation. You will also represent the organisation in legal proceedings, overseeing remedial works, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices. This role will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Disrepair Case Management – Receive and log complex disrepair reports, schedule inspections, develop action plans, and monitor progress to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Decant Coordination – Manage utility disconnections and reconnections and provide ongoing tenant support throughout the process.
- Stakeholder Management – Act as the main point of contact for tenants, build strong relationships with contractors and internal teams, and attend meetings to discuss case progress.
- Compliance & Administration – Ensure adherence to housing legislation, maintain accurate financial and case records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise in Social Housing: Knowledge of social housing legal practices, disrepair cases, decants, insurance claims, and the Decent Homes Standard.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of building construction and maintenance services.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with tenants and stakeholders with clarity and professionalism.
- Organisational Skills: Experience managing workloads in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
- IT Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and in-house IT systems such as Capita, MRI, and Total Mobile.
- Commitment to NCHA Values: A strong understanding of diversity, inclusion, and a drive to deliver high-quality services to our communities.
- You will also need a full UK driving licence and/or the ability to travel.
