Overall Purpose of The Job

  • To ensure an effective, coherent SeaTec Diving Management System (DMS) is maintained and followed, to ensure that SeaTec delivers it’s responsibilities for safe compliant diving operations, undertaken by SeaTec or its subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Embrace V.Group’s safety culture, report all safety observations to avoid escalation of unsafe acts. Do not start work if you have not been briefed on the safe system of work that you are undertaking.
  • Maintain the SeaTec Diving Manual to ensure it remains current, fit for purpose, routinely updated and appropriate available to all relevant stakeholders; including but not limited to staff, auditors, regulators, and customers.
  • Ensure that SeaTec operates in compliance with the Diving at Work Regulations 1997
  • Assist with the growth and development of the talent pool of operational personnel to support and manage diving projects. Ensure a database, compliant with the V.Group GDPR policy, is maintained of diving staff and subcontractors, which is readily accessible to all appropriate stakeholders. Ensure the training and competence requirements of diving related staff and sub-contractors is known and adequate records are maintained to demonstrate the requirement, individual training and competence, the annual schedule of training and competence development.
  • Provide diving SME guidance to all staff and other Group and external stakeholders to ensure SeaTec delivers safe, compliant diving operations, undertaken by SeaTec or its subcontractors.
  • Manage the DMS Steering Group, agree the Group membership; arrange and chair a programme of periodic meetings, agree the standing agenda, produce the minutes and manage the implementation of the actions arising.
  • Ensure a process of continuous improvement of the DMS is in place and effectively used.
  • Maintain all DMS related procedures, risk assessments, operational and other documentation within the Marine Services.
  • HSEQ management system; ensuring they are fit for purpose and effectively used.
  • Maintain an audit programme of the DMS and act as the leader auditor of SeaTec and its sub - contractors diving operations.
  • Review of SeaTec diving equipment systems and planned maintenance to ensure that they are current, compliant and continue to meet industry standards.
  • Provide technical support for the diving departments where required during the submission of tender and project related documentation.
  • Provide local HSEQ support for the UK.

Essential

  • In depth knowledge of Diving Safety Systems and Industry Best Practices.
  • Good knowledge of current industry standards for Life Support Equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of Life Support Equipment
  • Commercial Diving Related certification and associated HSE course.
  • Maintenance in line with IMCA guidance recommendations.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Must be able to hold UK SC Clearance.

Desirable

  • Client Representative Training.
  • NEBSOH General in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Training and Certification in Auditing.
  • ADC Dive Supervisor.
