About Us
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented
Document Controller to join our team in Aberdeen on a part-time basis. This role is key to managing and controlling all project document flow, ensuring compliance with information management protocols, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive project information.
You will support project teams and subcontractors by providing subject matter expertise in document control systems, ensuring accurate and efficient information management throughout all project stages.
What you'll be doing
As a
Document Controller you will have the following accountabilities:
- Basic understanding of BIM processes.
- Manage requirements for document control on the project, ensuring compliance with ISO 19650 information management and file naming standards.
- Control documentation accurately from pre-construction through to completion and archive.
- Utilise Balfour Beatty internal SharePoint and Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
- Manage document review workflows, collaborating with the design manager, site team, design team, subcontractors, customers, and external suppliers.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on document control procedures and CDE systems.
- Ensure stakeholders receive up-to-date project information promptly.
- Maintain business archives to ensure documentation is efficiently stored, accessible, and referenceable.
- Provide feedback to design and project managers regarding documentation issues.
- Identify and support improvements in information management systems.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven administration skills with experience in document control.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and document naming conventions.
- Experience working with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
- Basic understanding of BIM processes.
- Strong planning, organisation, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Determination to see tasks through to completion.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
