Role: Document Controller
Location: London (office-based with hybrid flexibility as agreed)
Contract: Temp‑to‑Perm
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organise all documentation related to development projects—including planning applications, drawings, contracts, approvals, revisions, RFI logs, correspondence and compliance records.
- Control versioning across teams (land, planning, construction, property management), ensuring the latest documents are widely accessible and outdated versions are archived.
- Establish folder structures, naming conventions, metadata tagging and archiving procedures.
- Support project managers and architects with timely distribution, tracking and logging of documents to internal and external stakeholders.
- Administer document control systems (e.g. SharePoint, Aconex or equivalent) and train users in standardised practices.
- Conduct quality checks on document integrity, format consistency and audit-ready setup; support site inspections and internal/external audits.
- Respond to requests from stakeholders—project team, consultants, local authority—with accurate documents and traceable records.
Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience as a Document Controller or Administrator in property development, construction, engineering or architecture.
- Familiarity with document management systems (e.g. SharePoint, Aconex, ProjectWise), and Microsoft Office suite.
- Detail-oriented mindset; strong version-control discipline and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact across multifunctional teams.
- Understanding of compliance requirements (planning, H&S, procurement).
- Proactive, organised, and solution-minded in a fast-moving environment.
