Interim Document Controller

Location: Hybrid (1–2 days per week onsite on Dorset).

Day Rate: £250 Outside IR35

Contract: 6 months

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Document Controller to support a nationally recognised charity over the next six months. You'll be joining a high-profile digital transformation programme which is fast moving and needs a sharp, proactive Document Controller to take control of its governance, structure, and knowledge base.

What You’ll Do

• Lead consolidation of all programme and project documentation into a single, accessible repository (SharePoint).
• Define and implement governance – taxonomy, version control, naming conventions, and approval processes.
• Coach and train teams in how to store, manage, and retrieve documents effectively.
• Collaborate with PMO and project leads to embed your framework into daily operations.
• Enable success by ensuring every piece of information is where it should be - and easy to find.

Essential:

• Proven experience in document control or information management within complex digital programmes or portfolios.
• Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint (designing, structuring, and managing repositories).
• Confident setting up governance frameworks from scratch.
• Excellent communication skills - able to coach, influence, and bring people with you.
• A self-starter who’s as comfortable shaping strategy as rolling up their sleeves
