We’re excited to offer a brand-new opportunity as an
Early Intervention Coordinator to support early intervention and prevention work within a secure estate setting. Based at HMYOI Wetherby, you'll deliver substance use awareness sessions, group work, and support through the PSHE curriculum—ensuring young people have timely access to the help they need.
You'll also contribute to digital engagement, help shape a potential Peer Mentor programme, and work across additional sites including Adel Beck and Aldine House. If you're passionate about making a difference and empowering young people to make healthier choices, we’d love to hear from you.

Full Time Hours 37.5 per week,
Full Time Salary Range £27,861.26 - £32,002.35 dependant on experience (pro rata for part time)
- please note Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
About the role
- Coordinate and deliver early intervention, prevention, and education initiatives across three secure estate settings, including group work and training programmes.
- Increase the visibility and accessibility of the service for children, young people, families, and partners—encouraging timely referrals for specialist support.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with prison staff, education teams, and key partners to support collaborative, high-quality delivery.
- Develop engaging educational resources, digital content, and awareness campaigns to improve service engagement and visibility within secure environments.
- Complete Comprehensive Healthcare Assessment Tools (CHAT) for all new receptions at HMYOI Wetherby and represent the service at key prison and health forums.
- Champion youth voice through co-production, ensure accurate data collection and reporting, and uphold confidentiality to build trust and rapport.
About you
We are looking for someone with
- Experience working with young people in one-to-one and group settings, with a solid understanding of the challenges they face—particularly around substance use and safeguarding.
- Proven ability to work in an outcomes-focused environment, meeting KPIs and project deadlines while delivering high-quality support.
- Confident in conducting needs assessments, maintaining accurate records, and producing reports within required timeframes.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to engage effectively with young people, professionals, and partner agencies.
- Experience delivering training to a variety of audiences and building positive, collaborative relationships with external partners.
- Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel; ability to obtain full prison vetting clearance.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience supporting children and young people within secure estate settings.
- Background in developing educational content tailored to young people.
- Experience working with young people with additional needs, including SEND and SEMH, with the ability to adapt approaches accordingly.
- A recognised Youth Work qualification or equivalent.
