We are now looking for a
EHS Engineer
to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent, and the preferred location is in
Marples Way Havant.
What You Will Be Doing
A hands-on Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) advisor role. Working as part of our team, the successful EHS Engineer will play a key role in supporting our management systems, delivering safety training to staff, conducting audits and helping to maintain, promote and improve a positive working environment whilst ensuring the company adheres to all current legislation, policies and procedures
.
As a EHS Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Promote a positive EHS culture throughout the company and supply chain. Contribute to the Company’s EHS commitments in highlighting and promoting best practice.
- Monitor and review site performance when needed through near misses, dashboards, CARS, inspections, safety walks, audits and toolbox talks.
- Active participation in the highlighting of health & safety related
- Agree risks and opportunities to improve, through HSE Committee meetings, town halls and training,
- Agree remedial action with relevant managers and supervisors for any non-conformance and carry out follow up review to ensure the appropriate implementation has taken place.
- Ensure requisite documentation is maintained correctly i.e. COSHH records.
- Ensure full implementation of the Company’s Accident Reporting Procedure.
- Ensure the implications of changes in legislation and environmental, safety techniques are communicated and implemented throughout the Company and Supply Chain (where applicable).
- Maintain relevant EHS procedures in accordance with the Company’s Business Management System (BMS).
- Educate and train organisation to ensure that EHS procedures and standards are understood and complied with
- Review/evaluate current local methods, procedures and systems, recommending changes that will improve the company from an EHS perspective whilst ensuring positive engagement & feedback from colleagues
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Knowledge or understanding of current health and safety legislation
- Experienced in writing RAMS
- Office 365
- Experience carrying out site inspections/audits
- Proven experience working in EHS role (Min 3 years)
- Construction Design Management (CDM) experience
- Facilities Management experience
- Training experience and qualification
- Experience of managing multi sites
