BWS is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Lead to support the preparation and execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up (PCCSU) activities for a major industrial development project. The role will be based in
Paris for the first year, transitioning to
site execution in Teesside, UK. This is a long-term opportunity requiring strong technical, leadership, and coordination skills within an EPC project environment.
Scope of Services:
The Electrical Commissioning Lead will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams throughout both the home office and site phases of the project.
Main Responsibilities - Home Office (Paris):
- Ensure preparation is conducted with quality, schedule alignment, and budget compliance.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines to embed commissioning requirements in design.
- Develop/update electrical commissioning strategies, procedures, and technical documents.
- Define and support the commissioning sequence (e.g. energization, tie-ins).
- Perform systemization of electrical sub-systems and validate commissioning test coverage.
- Prepare/review scope for subcontractors and support bid evaluations.
- Identify temporary power needs and vendor/subcontractor support early.
- Report safety/technical concerns and interface with PCCSU team regularly.
- Travel to fabrication yards and project site during preparation as required.
Main Responsibilities - Site Execution (Teesside, UK):
- Lead safe execution of all electrical commissioning works.
- Supervise vendors and subcontractors according to project priorities.
- Write/approve electrical isolation procedures.
- Participate in system walkdowns and support completion of construction dossiers.
- Use commissioning management systems (e.g. EASYPLANT) for documentation.
- Provide field support, troubleshooting, and ensure equipment readiness.
- Monitor use of commissioning spares and ensure preservation strategies are followed.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of all executed works.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong experience in electrical commissioning (LV & HV), operational testing, and start-up of turbines and electrical machinery.
- Proven team leadership and ability to mentor junior staff.
- Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
- Fluent English; experience working in international EPC environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam/PDF tools, 3D model viewers; familiarity with commissioning software (e.g., EASYPLANT, ICAPS) preferred.
- UK residency is a plus but not required
