Electrical Design Engineer

JCP Consulting Ltd is a Belfast-based firm of engineers, surveyors and cost consultants offering a broad range of professional services to the construction industry.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer within our Belfast Office responsible for designing building services electrical systems.

As Senior Engineer, you would be supporting or leading electrical design projects developing electrical design strategies from concept stage through to construction completion and handover.

You will be collaborating with Integrated Consultant Team members, Clients and Contractors, communicating design proposals and checking compliance of installations.

You will have the opportunity to work within an established experienced team in the delivery of exciting projects across many sectors including Education, Health, Commercial, Sport & Leisure.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Essential Criteria

• Experience in the design of building services electrical systems including: Small Power; Data/Comms; Lighting; Fire Detection; CCTV; LV Distribution, Access Control, Mechanical Wiring
• Experience in the production of electrical design specification, drawings, schematics and reports
• Experience of design through all RIBA stages from concept, technical design, tender information production, construction and handover
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Client facing experience
• AutoCAD
• Trimble Prodesign (Amtech) software (or similar) for cable sizing, protection selection and coordination
• Dialux or similar lighting design packages
• Existing right to work in UK

Desirable Criteria

• Professional Certification (or working towards this)
• Revit
• Mentoring of junior engineers/apprentices
• Current valid UK Driving Licence
• Current valid CSR/CSCS Site Safety card (or similar)
