About The Role
We are seeking a motivated, skilled, and versatile
Electrical Engineerswith experience in either
domestic retrofit installationsor
commercial renewable heating systems. You will work across either the
Domestic side of the businessor
Renewable Heatingdivisions, delivering low-carbon technologies in homes or commercial developments, supporting project delivery from survey through to commissioning.
This is a hands-on, field-based role with elements of technical leadership, mentoring, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. Youll install and maintain heat pumps, battery storage systems, and solar PV; lead apprentices or junior engineers; and help shape Rendescos growth in the renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities
Installation & Maintenance
- Install and commission heat pumps, batteries, and solar PV systems in homes or commercial buildings.
- Plan and execute safe, efficient, and compliant electrical works including wiring, control panels, and power systems.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and fault resolution for both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Carry out inspection and testing duties, completing certificates and reports to BS 7671 and Part P standards.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers or apprentices, ensuring best practice and safety on site.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical installers, project managers, and the wider team to coordinate jobs.
- Engage with clients and end-users in a professional, friendly manner, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct home and site surveys, capturing accurate data for design and installation planning.
- Ensure installations are compliant with industry regulations, including BS 7671, Part P, and H&S guidelines.
- Complete Quality Control (QA/QC) processes and documentation via SimPRO and internal platforms.
Innovation & Growth
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiativeschallenging conventional approaches to drive better outcomes.
- Share knowledge and support team-wide upskilling in renewable technologies and smart energy systems.
- Stay current with the latest developments in electrical systems, low-carbon tech, and installation practices.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (or equivalent)
- BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
- Inspection & Testing (C&G 2391 or equivalent) preferred
- CSCS/ECS Card required for construction site access
- Full UK Driving Licence
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience installing or maintaining electrical systemsideally in heating, renewables, or construction.
- Familiarity with domestic and/or commercial installations, including low-carbon tech.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation designs.
- Confident in producing EICs, minor works certificates, and QA documentation.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with:
- Battery storage & hybrid inverters
- Heat pump systems (domestic or district)
- Hydraulic principles (basic understanding)
- Positive leadership style with ability to motivate others
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work nationwide with occasional overnight stays
