The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cable / Harness Technician to join our team based from Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern offering a 4 day working week Monday - Thursday.

You'll also be offered ongoing training, support and flexible benefits.

We require a competent technician who will be:

• Capable of cable and harness manufacturing working from drawings and engineering instruction
• Competent and skilled in the safe use of all hand tools.
• Able to use Jigs, fixtures and measuring tools.
• A problem solver with a positive attitude.
• Working with support from engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware.

What skills will I need?

• Cable and Harness manufacturing to specifications using Work instructions and Engineering drawings working in a medium volume production environment
• Understanding of ESD controls.
• Experience in the use of crimp tools and ability to hand solder to high accuracy.
• Competent with using IT/Software packages.
• Cleanliness and housekeeping (5S) methodology.
• A high level of health and safety awareness.
• Certified IPC 620 or experience working with or understanding of IPC/J-Standards.

Please note : We can offer training to get people up to speed on the latest IPC 620 standards, if you have some background in this already, EG IPC 610 or J-STD standards/qualifications.
