At Kier, we help power the heart of London while the city sleeps. Our TfL Tunnels and Pump Stations team is at the forefront of maintaining the vital infrastructure beneath London's streets. We're currently looking for a Night Electrician to join our dedicated team based at Fore Street Depot
, Enfield.
Did you know that our team is responsible for the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and control systems in 10 London road tunnels and over 100 pump stations? From renewals and intelligent transport systems to emergency responses and routine maintenance — we do it all to keep London safe and moving, day and night.
Location: Fore Street Depot, Enfield
Hours: Permanent, Full-time, 45 hours per week – evening and night shifts
Pay: £23.50 – £26.00 per hour + benefits
What You'll Be Doing
As a Night Electrician, you'll play a key role in ensuring our critical systems remain safe, functional, and compliant. You'll work on a wide variety of electrical systems across tunnels and pump stations, carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance during the quieter hours when disruption is at its lowest and precision is key.
Your Day-to-day Will Include
- Performing planned and reactive electrical maintenance on tunnel ventilation, lighting, power, and pumping systems
- Working on various pump types and control systems, including centrifugal and submersible pumps
- Responding to system alarms and faults, using Aquaview monitoring and working alongside Shift Supervisors to ensure quick resolutions
- Participating in emergency response duties as part of a rota
- Remaining flexible with shift patterns to meet operational needs
What You'll Need
This role is ideal for an experienced Electrician who thrives in a dynamic, safety critical environment.
You'll Need
- Full electrical qualifications with a JIB Gold Card, ECS Electrician Card, CSCS and Health & Safety Card
- Strong knowledge of 3-phase motor supply and control circuits, Variable Speed Drives, and pump control systems
- The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and work both independently and collaboratively
