What will you be doing?

ALTEN is hiring an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team, working on technically complex and safety-critical projects. This role focuses on PCB design, circuit development, and component lifecycle management within leading-edge engineering sectors.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Deliver schematic capture and PCB layout using tools such as Altium Designer.
• Manage component obsolescence, proposing and implementing effective design solutions.
• Interpret system-level requirements and translate them into detailed hardware specifications.
• Perform circuit calculations, conduct design reviews, and support hardware validation and testing.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.

Who are we looking for?

• Strong experience in PCB design (Altium or similar tools).
• Knowledge of component lifecycle management and EOL strategies.
• Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with hardware validation in lab environments.
• Exposure to regulated or safety-critical industries (defence, aerospace, automotive) is a strong plus.

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Altium Designer training/certification (desirable but not essential).
• Any additional certification in electronics design or testing is a plus.
