At Progress Lifeline, we believe not all heroes wear capes-some wear headsets. We’re looking for five compassionate and committed individuals to join our award-winning team as Emergency Call Handlers.
In this vital role, you’ll be the first point of contact for people in need-handling emergency calls, supporting vulnerable individuals, and coordinating urgent responses. Whether it’s a housing emergency, a personal alarm activation, or a call from a concerned carer, you’ll be there to help.

We’re an award-winning provider of personal alarm and telecare services, supporting over 65,000 customers for more than 30 years. Our services include:
- 24/7 telecare monitoring and emergency response
- Emergency home response
- Out-of-hours contact centre support for housing providers and local authorities
- Installation and maintenance of personal alarms and telecare devices
About The Role
As an Emergency Call Handler you’ll work on a permanent, part-time basis, providing essential support during weekday evenings and weekends. You’ll be part of a flexible working arrangement, with shifts available between 4pm-9pm Monday to Friday and 8am-9pm on weekends. You can choose to work between 12 and 18 hours per week, with exact days and times to be discussed and agreed upon at interview.
In this rewarding and fast-paced role, you’ll be the first point of contact for people in urgent need-responding to calls that range from personal emergencies to housing and environmental issues. You’ll provide reassurance, coordinate emergency responses, and ensure the right support is delivered quickly and effectively.
You’ll also handle calls from carers, family members, and professionals, showing empathy and professionalism at all times. Alongside this, you’ll accurately record information across multiple systems and support the wider team with administrative tasks.
