Emerging Talent Safety, Risk & Operations Lead

Derby with UK travel to our training centres and partners.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Emerging Talent Safety, Risk & Operations Lead, this is a key role in the Emerging Talent & GBS team. This role is a critical delivery role within our emerging talent structure and wider Global Business Services (GBS) team taking accountability for embedding best-in-class safety, risk, wellbeing, and safeguarding practices across our programmes. You’ll also work closely with the UK and Learning and Development Centre (LDC) delivery team on key projects, ensuring our initiatives not only meet regulatory requirements and align to our behaviours but also help our talent thrive against future skills.

A key part of this role is working closely with our training providers to ensure that they are meeting our health and safety expectations. You’ll play a key role within the LDC supporting the Accountable Person and HSE team to programme manage initiatives. This role also has scope to support safety, risk and wellbeing activities across our Global Emerging Talent model and GBS supporting projects and acting as a key point of contact / project manager.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support the development and delivery of health, safety, wellbeing and safeguarding initiatives tailored to the needs of apprentices.
  • Work collaboratively with the Emerging Talent Delivery team on cross-functional projects such as LDC academy control standards and risk management.
  • Responsible for the UK audits of our training providers (apprentices), sharing best practise with our global training providers within the wider emerging talent team, risk assessments, continuity plans and business assurance
  • Owning the emerging talent role out of Journey to Zero Harm, wider scope will include embedding this into GBS
  • Project manage wellbeing and mental health training to be deployed within emerging talent working closely with subject matter experts
  • Support the budget management of operational costs within the LDC, raising orders and tracking spend
  • Continually seek improvements and efficiencies in how we deliver safety, wellbeing, support and work readiness to our emerging talent cohorts
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the GBS business to champion wellbeing and safety practices.

  • Experience or strong interest in safety, wellbeing, or safeguarding (especially in an early careers or education context)
  • Project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of risk assessments, HSE audits and HSE legislation
  • Agile thinker, able to adapt quickly and respond to changing priorities.
  • A collaborative team player who is passionate about supporting young people in their career journey
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Possess the ability to think independently, operate strategically as well as work successfully and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Have experience of managing a wide range of stakeholder working within different levels of the company.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • LOSH and NEBOSH (desired)
