Employment Advisor - Restart
Location
This position is will cover our busy Southampton office. Occasionally the employee may be required to travel to surrounding areas in which the programme is being delivered. In such instances, travel costs will be reimbursed by Palladium.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Take responsibility and accountability for customers as assigned and work with them through to employment. This will include:
- Assessing each customer’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs.
- Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each customer.
- Creating and following through with individualised action plans, ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by each customer
- Address each customer’s personal constraints to employment, providing challenge, advice and guidance where appropriate in order to develop their capability in the recruitment process, ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.
- Identify, structure and recommend vacancy and training solutions, working in close consultation with the team to meet the specific needs of customers and employers.
- Maintain accurate customer records to the required standard to ensure the customer journey is documented in accordance with quality and contractual requirements.
- Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services in the local area / region, building knowledge in areas such as specific disabilities, housing, benefits etc.
- Meet personal performance targets, Key Performance Indicators and all Quality and Compliance measures by delivering a high-quality employability service to customers.
- Develop relationships and networks with key stakeholders, including employers, Job Centre teams and provisions and funding providers, to ensure smooth operation of all processes.

Project Overview And Role
Since June 2021, the Restart Scheme has helped thousands of individuals across the country back into the work. The Scheme is for individuals from all backgrounds who have been claiming Universal Credit for 6 months or more and offers 12 months of tailored one-to-one support.
As an Employment Advisor you will be the foundation of this support. You will guide the customer through their time on the scheme, making sure to promote and celebrate positive change as well as have the confidence to challenge mindsets and behaviours. The role will require you to build genuine working relationships with customers, taking time to understand their situation, identify the barriers stopping them from achieving their potential, and create structured workplans to make sure the combined goal of gaining sustainable employment is achieved.
As the role of Employment Advisor is target driven, the ability to help customers achieve their goals with pace and urgency is essential. The role requires strong organisational skills to make sure customers are seen as much as possible, ensuring Key Performance Indicators are met within all compliance standards, so that customers receive the highest quality service.
You will be responsible for your own performance but will have the support of a wider team, building relationships with our in-house Employment Facilitator and Employment Solutions team, as well as with our external partners, all working together to help customers achieve their goals.

The salary range for this role is: £26,208 to £29,000 .
