SSQ are delighted to be partnered with a major employer on the South Coast to secure an additional employment counsel.

This position will manage senior employment queries, be involved in all employment issues and provide advice and guidance to key stakeholders and the board.

This position is suited to someone 4 - 7PQE based in the South West / South Coast or a commutable distance.

Responsibilities:

• As Senior Employment Counsel, your role will be to provide expert legal guidance and provide the strategic vision and direction and management of employment legal issues.
• You will carry out a wide range of legal work and provide advice and guidance, as well as negotiate and resolve disputes.
• Responsibility for line management and mentoring of a trainee solicitor or apprentice solicitor within the legal team.
• Management of all employment contracts including employment Contracts; Pay Disputes; termination and cessation of employment; TUPE issues and oversight of Employment Tribunals

Application Criteria:

• A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience.
• Have proven experience in dealing with varied caseloads with the minimum of supervision
• Management of significant employment case-loads effectively
• Will accept applications from those with in-house or Private Practice experience
