SSQ are delighted to be partnered with a major employer on the South Coast to secure them a new, additional senior employment counsel.

This position will manage senior employment queries and have responsibilities across policy, mentoring and all other commercial employment legal queries.

This position is suited to someone 4 - 7PQE based in the South West.

Responsibilities:

• As Senior Employment Counsel, your role will be to provide expert legal guidance and provide the strategic vision and direction and management of employment legal issues.
• You will carry out a wide range of legal work and provide advice and guidance, as well as negotiate and resolve disputes.
• Responsibility for line management and mentoring of a trainee solicitor or apprentice solicitor within the legal team.
• Management of all employment contracts including employment Contracts; Pay Disputes; termination and cessation of employment; TUPE issues and oversight of Employment Tribunals

Application Criteria:

• A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience.
• Have proven experience in dealing with varied caseloads with the minimum of supervision
• Management of significant employment case-loads effectively
• Will accept applications from those with in-house or Private Practice experience
