Employment Solicitor – Leeds (Hybrid / Fully Remote)

Salary: Competitive, DOE

Location: Leeds (hybrid working available) or fully remote

Contract: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Employment Solicitor to join a growing employment team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a varied client base, handling both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with flexible working arrangements available.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload of employment matters, advising both individuals and commercial clients, while supporting the wider employment team. The role offers a high degree of autonomy, client contact, and involvement in business development and marketing initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims
Running a full caseload of Employment Tribunal matters, including:
Drafting pleadings and witness statements
Negotiating settlements and advising on settlement agreements

Instructing counsel or advocates where required

Complying with insurer service level agreements

Supporting the employment team with non-contentious employment work, including:

Drafting contracts of employment, handbooks and related documentation

Providing reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients

Delivering telephone employment law advice

Participating in marketing and business development, including:

Writing employment law updates

Delivering client training sessions

Ensuring accurate, practical and commercial advice is provided to clients at all times

Using the firm’s case management system to progress files efficiently

About You

Qualified solicitor or FCILEX with experience in employment law
Confident handling Employment Tribunal litigation
Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
Commercially aware and client-focused
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Experience working to insurer requirements is desirable
