In this pivotal role, you’ll help us navigate complex regulatory and policy changes, ensuring our commercial energy strategies are aligned and future-fit.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring performance reporting, service levels and accurate payment validation.
- Support procurement and hedging strategies to secure cost-effective energy contracts in collaboration with Treasury.
- Monitor energy markets, produce price forecasts, and present insights to support business planning and governance.
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities and energy projects aligned with business goals.
- Build strong internal and external partnerships, including with National Grid, OFGEM, and other energy stakeholders.
- Proven experience in energy markets, including wholesale, capacity and balancing mechanisms.
- Strong commercial acumen with a solid grasp of commercial structures and contractual frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of energy policy and it’s implications on market dynamics.
- Demonstrates the ability to build strategic relationships and effectively engage with the market and supply chain.
- Sound knowledge of procurement processes and best practice methodologies, including familiarity with Category management.
- Hands on experience in supplier management and contract management including oversight of contractual KPI’s
- Adept at translating complex energy market concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
