Brief Description
To work with Route teams to develop energy and water management plans, designed to continually drive down consumption. To provide support, guidance and advice on implementation of those plans and ongoing energy management good practice, highlighting energy and water reduction opportunities as part of day-to-day activities.
Working within the Eastern Region Sustainability Team, you will provide a strong interface between the Region and Route teams, enabling a low carbon culture through provision of demystified information and increased understanding of energy efficiency throughout the Routes.
About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities –
- Deliver and continuously improve the routes energy management plan.
- Monitor and report on energy usage across the route.
- Align the routes Energy Management System to BS EN ISO 50001:2011. Develop and implement plans to maintain compliance.
- Undertake energy audits across the route.
- Produce management information on energy usage, including usage and trends, and identify potential energy efficiency opportunities.
- Prepare business cases for energy efficiency investment.
- Co-ordinate the management and output of the routes energy reduction programmes.
- Develop and deliver group training workshops in relation to energy management and create training guides regarding energy consumption.
- Proactively maintain knowledge of changes in energy regulation and disseminate across the route as appropriate.
- Work with stakeholders both internally and externally to share best practice and learning on energy management.
- Work collaboratively with the Utilities Specialist to deliver improvements to the routes energy management plan.
Essential
- Experience of implementing and maintaining an Energy Management System to BS EN ISO 50001:2011
- Experience of working in the energy management field with proven results
- Trained in Certified Measurement and Verification Professional qualification (CMPV)
- Able to demonstrate good numerical and analytical skills
- Able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Previous experience of designing training packages
- Able to demonstrate excellent influencing skills
- Previous project management experience
Desirable
- A Level 3 Recognised Energy Manager vocational certificate (Energy Managers Association)
- Good knowledge of utilities management processes
- Previous experience of working within the rail industry
- Evidence of continuing professional development
