We are looking to recruit to Enforcement Officer posts within our developing Enforcement Team within Neighbourhood Services and Transport. This Department is responsible for a wide range of Council services including waste management, transport, road safety, traffic management, open spaces, parks and leisure.
The Enforcement team aims to ensure that residents and visitors to the Vale of Glamorgan understand and comply with various legal requirements including those relating to waste disposal, littering, parking, fly tipping, bye laws and public space protection orders. The team is looking to recruit Enforcement Officers who will enforce parking restrictions and will also assist with enforcement activities relating to environmental enforcement, such as dog fouling, fly tipping, littering, byelaws and public space protection orders.

About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14 - 19, £28,624 - £31,067 p.a.
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Various shifts between 0600 and 2200, 7 days a week including Bank holidays. 37 hours pro-rata
Main Place of Work: Work will be undertaken across the Vale of Glamorgan. Offices are based at the Alps Depot in Wenvoe.
Description: Issuing PCNs to vehicles parking in contravention of Traffic Regulation Orders. Duties will predominantly involve foot patrol but will include use a Mobile Camera Enforcement Car and time spent reviewing evidence in an office environment. The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake other enforcement and educational activities relating to Dog Fouling, Littering, Public Space Protection Orders, Fly tipping and breaches of bye-laws.
About You
You will need:
- Customer Service experience / experience of working with a diverse range of people
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to prepare statements
- Practical attitude for dealing with complaints
- Strong observational skills and ability to record information accurately
- Able to use hand held electronic equipment
- A good standard of education or an ability to demonstrate competence through experience.
- Able to work alone or in groups
- Ability to deal with conflict situations and remain calm and polite at all times in challenging situations
- Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
- Be prepared to work irregular hours to meet the needs of the service including weekend and bank holiday working on a shift rota which is an essential requirement.
