The Service & Team:

The Your Future team sits within the Employment and Enterprise Team, which is part of the Education and Community Health Service. The primary goal of the Employment and Enterprise Team is to support young people in achieving successful outcomes in employment, education, and training. While the team works with diverse groups of young individuals, it specifically focuses on assisting those who are less likely to transition successfully into employment, education, or training.

The Role

The post holder will provide support to the Your Futures team to help the tracking and monitoring of young people destinations as part of the team’s statutory duty to support young people into successful outcome of Education, Employment and Training. The role will support duties to the Your Futures team; to assist in the efficient delivery of the programme, providing a core service to contact young people by telephone, text and email and offer signposting advice. They will ensure timely communications with service users and partner agencies as well as a range of tasks including records management, administration and input of information to the Case Management Systems.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern

The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Cornwall Council has a flexible working policy. Core hours are 10am-3pm, with hybrid or term-time arrangements possible.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

This role necessitates an individual who is organised and capable of managing their time efficiently. The candidate should be able to work independently to handle their workload while also collaborating effectively with others.

The position involves interactions with other staff, external partners, and participants and is required to be professional but friendly when liaising with service users and other professionals on behalf of the practitioner.

The candidate must be proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel. There will also be an expectation to use our case management system. Full training will be provided, but experience in processing information via a case management system would be desirable.

Candidates must have an attention to detail to maintain accurate information in both manual and electronic records. They should be able to provide high-quality business support including producing correspondence, reports, presentation materials, and spreadsheets.
