Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in one of our Central Engineering, Transport System Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering teams and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. You will join our RIBA and RICS award-winning in-house team, working on projects of varying scale and complexity across all TfL modes with the focus in London Underground. You will ideally have experience of the built environment, particularly buildings and works associated to rail, with an understanding of rail standards and best practices. Ideally you will have training in Architecture, Building Surveying, or Building Engineering or similar. Chartership to relevant bodies is preferred but not essential.
Day-to-day, your focus will be on the production of design information, assurance verification of external contractor submissions, site inspections, surveys and construction support. You shall make sure assets are safe, compliant, and operable; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
You will have experience of assessing building condition and building defect analysis together with a good understanding of the relevant legislation, rail technical standards and best practice. Experience of design production and assurance, coordination and specification writing (NBS), on-site supervision and assurance of works is preferred.
