And it doesn’t stop there—you’ll also work on industrial, defence, and transportation projects, giving you variety, challenge, and the chance to make a real impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Engineer the structural elements that power the nation—design, specify, and deliver with precision.
  • Produce high-quality drawings, specifications, and reports that set the standard in the industry.
  • Collaborate with expert multi-disciplinary teams to create safe, sustainable, and future-ready solutions.
  • Review designs, calculations, and supplier submissions to ensure technical excellence and compliance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the knowledge base of an industry-leading team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in any of our key sectors—power project experience is a big plus.
  • Progressing towards Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE or IStructE).
  • Skilled in structural analysis software (MasterSeries, STAAD, Tedds or similar).
  • Strong grasp of Eurocodes, British Standards, and CDM regulations.
  • A natural collaborator who thrives in a team environment.
  • Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).

Why BakerHicks?

  • Work on nation-critical infrastructure and help shape the UK’s energy future.
  • Enjoy hybrid working, career development, and full support towards professional accreditation.
