Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.
We are looking for a Engineering Manager to join the team on our Kent County Council project based in West Malling, Kent.
The purpose of the role will be to Manage and delivery of the in-house Engineer contract compliance, ensuring the achievement of contractual requirements, health and safety . Building the satisfaction of internal and external customers, as well as managing client and customer stakeholders
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop management direct reports as well as wider team(s).
- Lead and manage a safe, environmentally, compliant, efficient team
- Participate in developing, maintaining, and executing a Health, Safety, Environment and sustainability project action plan
- Fully understand the contract operationally and commercially and attend client meetings on a regular basis
- Ensure that all technical reports arising from PPM, statutory and technical audits are reviewed for quality assurance
- Ensure all Statutory and routine inspections are undertaken in accordance with the Skanska policy and legislation
- Accurately report progress each month, including key activities linked to compliance and H&S.
- Develop a positive working relationship with each stakeholder / customer
- Create a culture of care in line with Skanska values through effective leadership, development, and management of their team.
- Create a culture of customer care managing both the relationship, and expectations of external key stakeholder’s e.g. the client, Skanska Building Services Leadership Team and Skanska UK by working with and reporting regularly to the Operations Manager on progress, key activities and expenditure against budget.
- Assist with commercial fleet requirements and associated FORS audits
We’re looking for:
- Proven client and stakeholder relationship builder
- An experienced Supervisor background with at least 5 years’ experience in managing teams, facilities management service delivery across multiple sites
- Practiced leader, operationally excellence
- Technical qualification, Electrical qualifications preferred to City and Guilds or similar
- LV AP qualifications preferred or suitable training to be completed
- Proven experience in service delivery, compliance, implementing quality assurance measures for service delivery and monitor KPI’s
- Develop conflict-resolution programs and lead by example
- Problem-solving with expertise to supervise daily business operations.
