Miryco Consultants are working with an innovative B2B SaaS company in the RegTech space to hire a hands-on Engineering Manager, specialising in Data & AI, to lead their growing data and ML capabilities. This role is a key leadership position, driving strategy, delivery, and execution across advanced data and AI initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, data scientists, and ML specialists in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Product Delivery: Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered features and data products that bring tangible value to end users.
- Technical Ownership: Guide data architecture, pipelines, and infrastructure decisions; remain hands-on when needed to ensure delivery quality and scalability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, regulatory experts, and business stakeholders to turn complex needs into technical solutions.
- Innovation & Strategy: Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data and AI.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure data practices meet high standards for quality, privacy, and security, especially in regulated domains.
Experience:
- Proven track record leading and growing data/AI teams in a SaaS or tech-centric environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data tooling (Spark, dbt, Airflow, etc.).
- Solid programming background in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience delivering data-driven products in a regulated industry (finance, legal, compliance, etc.).
- Deep understanding of data governance, privacy standards, and security protocols.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
- Passion for people development, mentoring, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Bonus Experience (Desirable):
- Experience deploying models using AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with RegTech or compliance-oriented solutions.
- Background in a start-up or scale-up environment.
- Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience.
