Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a driven, results focused leader with previous experience in a supervisor or team leader role.
As an Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance and facility operations at our Colwick and Leicester sites. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers, ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment and infrastructure. Your role will be pivotal in driving continuous improvement, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Autonomous Maintenance strategies.
- Develop and manage weekly maintenance schedules, allocating tasks to engineering staff.
- Support the recruitment, supervision, and training of maintenance personnel.
- Oversee and coordinate contractor activities during planned maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building facilities and plant equipment.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance materials and equipment.
- Participate in the coordination of engineering projects and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, and other statutory inspection requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory or similar leadership role.
- Technical expertise in mechanical and/or electrical disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to fault-find and engineer solutions effectively.
- Excellent planning, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer systems and maintenance management software.
- Relevant technical qualifications (mechanical/electrical).
- Health & Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH or IOSH).
