Enterprise Architect – Data Focus (£200,000 Total Package, Hybrid Working)

The Enterprise Architect will play a key role in defining and governing the enterprise architecture to support the organisation’s strategic objectives. This position will focus primarily on data architecture, ensuring the data landscape is scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals, while also contributing to broader enterprise architecture initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Architecture Development

• Define and evolve the target enterprise architecture, with a strong emphasis on data, in alignment with business and technology strategies.
• Support strategic planning by evaluating emerging technologies, particularly in AI and data, and incorporating them into architectural roadmaps.
• Identify optimal approaches to delivering business strategy while enhancing agility, simplicity, and cost efficiency.

Architecture Governance and Delivery Support

• Lead the development and implementation of architectural principles, policies, and standards.
• Provide architectural oversight and assurance for key programmes and initiatives.
• Offer targeted support to delivery teams throughout the technology lifecycle to ensure strategic alignment.

Data Architecture Leadership

• Develop and maintain high-level models and documentation of the organisation’s data landscape.
• Guide the design and management of data architecture to meet strategic needs and enable data engineering teams.
• Promote best practices in data lifecycle management, governance, and security.

Collaboration and Capability Building

• Build and lead a community of practice around enterprise and data architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, business units, and external partners.
• Foster understanding of the broader technology landscape among stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience delivering technology solutions at enterprise scale.
• Demonstrated success in using enterprise architecture to shape strategic priorities.
• Extensive experience in data and analytics architecture, including blueprint creation for data engineering.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies and their implications for enterprise architecture.
• Experience leading architecture governance and assurance processes.
• Hands-on engineering experience and practical deployment of data science models.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and promote the value of new technologies.
