Base location: Reading – hybrid working with 2 days per week in the local office
Salary: Up to £45k depending on experience

What is the role?
Reporting to the Director for Strategic Proposals and Sustainability, you will act as the Responsible Owner for the Environment and Governance Areas of Focus within the ESG Framework. You will define strategy, coordinate implementation, and ensure robust data structures that support accurate, reusable reporting and play an active role in defining our strategy to meet our Net Zero promises.
- Lead the development and implementation of Neos Networks’ Environmental Strategy, including Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions reduction, ISO 14001 compliance, and environmental audits.
- Act as Programme Manager for the Environment and Governance pillars of ESG, ensuring alignment across teams and delivery of key initiatives.
- Coordinate and manage carbon and environmental reporting (e.g. ESOS, GRESB), ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Oversee the compilation of the ESG Annual Report and ExCo/Board-level reporting, working closely with marketing and executive stakeholders.
- Work with our data team to develop and maintain data structures that support “record once, use many times” principles for ESG data, enabling efficient internal and external reporting.
- Collaborate with the Bid Team to provide environmental and governance content for customer bids and portals (e.g. EcoVadis, RiskLedger, Greenstone).
- Support the management and alignment of ESG Working Groups, ensuring their outputs feed into KPI reporting and strategic objectives.
- Ensure internal and external reporting aligns with relevant frameworks and standards, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 13 – Climate Action) and ISO 14001.
- Promote internal engagement and awareness of environmental and governance initiatives through SharePoint, Viva, and other internal communications platforms.
- Identify and coordinate continual improvement initiatives and support innovation across the ESG programme.
- Participate in the Quarterly ESG Responsible Owners Forum and advocate for ESG across the business.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in managing sustainability within the UN SDG framework, particularly in developing strategic approaches to meeting Scope 1, 2 and 3 emission targets.
- Strong programme and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
- A data-literate mindset, with experience designing and managing structured data systems for reporting and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for driving sustainability and governance excellence.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting tools and standards (e.g. ESOS, GRESB, EcoVadis, ISO 14001).
- Experience of Internal and External Audits.
- Ability to be part of an audit team responsible for closing out environmental actions and continual improvements
- SharePoint experience and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience and skills in Power BI would be an advantage, but not essential.
- Availability to travel UK-wide as required (e.g. for stakeholder engagement or site visits).
