United Living is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our growing Infrastructure Services division, supporting the delivery of a variety of key energy contracts across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
๐ Environmental Oversight: Take the lead in managing environmental commitments across projects, ensuring all activities are aligned with relevant planning conditions and environmental obligations.
๐ Consents Coordination: Oversee the preparation, submission, and tracking of environmental approvals. You'll work alongside consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure all permissions are secured in line with project timelines.
๐ฃ Liaison & Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for environmental matters with regulators, local authorities, and other stakeholders โ building trusted relationships through clear communication and proactive engagement.
๐ Monitoring & Reporting: Maintain a clear audit trail of approvals, actions, and correspondence. You'll contribute to internal reports and updates, helping project teams stay on top of environmental milestones and deliverables.
๐ Operational Integration: Ensure that environmental considerations are embedded into delivery plans by working closely with engineering, delivery, and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
๐ค Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with colleagues across disciplines to champion sustainability and environmental best practice, while balancing delivery and compliance needs.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day support and guidance to a small team of environmental professionals, setting clear expectations and encouraging development through mentoring and shared learning.

A strong background in environmental planning, permitting, or regulatory roles โ ideally in the utilities, infrastructure, or energy sectors.

Solid understanding of UK environmental and planning legislation, with the ability to translate requirements into practical on-site solutions.

Confident managing multiple workstreams and keeping deadlines on track.

Skilled at building collaborative relationships โ both internally and with external regulators or partners.

Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and motivate others while working under pressure.
