We’re looking for an
Environmental Sustainability Delivery Manager to join our team based in London.
HCA have a target to be net zero by 2035 for our scope 1&2 emissions and net zero by 2045 for scope 3 emissions. Our Environmental Sustainability Strategy sets out four key pillars to deliver on our goals, including emissions reduction, circular economy, water stewardship, and biodiversity.
Reporting to the Head of Environmental Sustainability, as our
Environmental Sustainability Delivery Manager, you will be overseeing the programme of work to deliver on HCA’s environmental sustainability goals across our UK hospital network.
This will include setting the corporate expectations and working with operational and clinical teams across sites to deliver. You will be the central point to coordinate and promote best practice and support all facilities and stakeholders in the delivery of their own sustainability obligations as part of their own operational roles, such as waste, energy and water management, financial disclosures, environmental legal compliance, clinical care delivery, etc.
As HCA UK operates in a matrix structure, you will work across multiple teams and leverage your excellent stakeholder management and systems change skills to drive change. You will be working with teams across the organisation to embed sustainability into systems, processes, tools, governance, and internal reporting.

What You Will Do
- Driving the operational delivery of net zero for HCA UK
- HCA’s annual carbon reporting, using external support where required
- Monitoring and reporting progress against initiatives
- Owning the internal sustainability content hub for colleagues, and providing the communications team with relevant information
- Supporting and encouraging colleagues to take action across the organisation, and support good practice sharing and coordination across sites
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrable experience in the same or similar role within another large organisation, ideally within healthcare.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships across departments and levels within an organisation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrable project and programme delivery experience
- Operational experience in a healthcare setting a plus
- Behavioural and systems change experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in data-driven decision-making, experience of Microsoft Power BI is advantageous.
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of key ESG issues affecting businesses and knowledge of key sustainability tools/methodologies (e.g. ISSB, TCFD, SECR, BREEAM, ISO 14001, CDP, etc.)
- Proven record of delivering KPIs and ambitious targets
