The Service & Team:
We are seeking applications for a Skills for Life ESoL Tutor to work at our Skills for Life Centre in Roskear, Camborne to deliver at all levels. This would be for 2 sessions per week on a Monday afternoon and evening.
The successful candidates will be required to work closely and support our quality team, to ensure we are meeting Ofsted requirements.
The Role
The post holders will deliver high quality learning opportunities to groups of adults ensuring maximum retention of learners and achievement of qualifications. They will also be responsible for directing and supporting a Learning Support Assistant where necessary. The role requires the ability to assess learners, identify appropriate support and plan and deliver high quality tuition to ensure maximum learner retention. Post holder(s) should have experience delivering City & Guilds qualifications.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Candidates need to be qualified, experienced and highly motivated Skills for Life practitioners with excellent communication skills, ideally qualified to teach ESoL up to Level 2. A generic teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed. or equivalent) is required and an ESoL subject specialist qualification. The post holder must also be a confident and competent ICT user.
