Estates Surveyor

Carlisle or Workington

About The Role

As an Estates Surveyor, you will be a key member of the Property Management team, supporting the proactive management of the Council’s estate. You’ll assist senior colleagues in delivering acquisitions, disposals, valuations, and asset management activities, ensuring efficient use of property assets and contributing to regeneration and transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering acquisition, disposal, valuation, and asset management activities in a commercial and innovative way.
  • Undertake asset valuations for financial reporting purposes.
  • Support the implementation of the Council’s Asset Management Plan and Corporate Landlord model.
  • Contribute to regeneration and transformation projects, identifying opportunities for rationalisation and investment.
  • Assist in managing the investment portfolio to maximise rental income.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for stakeholders.
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement within the team.

About You

  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or working towards APC completion.
  • Knowledge of asset management planning processes.
  • Experience in estates management, valuations, and working with consultants/contractors.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Positive approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
