We’re looking for an Events Adviser to support our Events Team with all aspects of the ABI Events calendar and key flagships, as well as running smaller internal events end to end.

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who loves working in events and wants build and develop their skills within a diverse and influential industry.


We are open to flexible and/or job share working – please let us know if this would be your preference. We work in a hybrid way with at least 40% of time in the office.

Our team is made up of people who are new to insurance, those who are highly experienced, and everyone in-between, so we welcome people from all industry backgrounds.


What’s the job?


  • Plan and organise a busy calendar of corporate events in collaboration with the rest of the Events team. This involves leading on your own events.
  • Be responsible for the management for each allocated event, working with colleagues in other departments who will undertake appropriate administrative tasks.
  • Support on events technology and creative outputs including design (working with an external agency), events engagement tool, marketing (website, marketing emails etc.)
  • Work with the Assistant Director and Events Marketing Manager on partnership and sponsorship activities
  • Ensure our CRM (Dynamics 365) is up to date from an events and member engagement point of view
  • Input into the events business planning process by meeting with all ABI teams and collating events wishes for the following year, compiling a draft calendar and producing draft budgets
  • Input into event budgets with oversight from the Assistant Director, Head of Events
  • Manage external relationships with suppliers (such as catering, AV, printers, design agency, external venues) on a regular basis (including contracts, queries, invoices)


Please note, due to the nature of working in events, you will need to be available outside normal working hours when required.


What skills are we looking for?


  • Corporate events – you have experience delivering in-person, virtual (incl. webinars) and hybrid events
  • Tech skills – you know how to build marketing HTML’s and have experience using Canva. Knowledge of Dynamics 365 CRM would be beneficial.
  • Planning and organisation – you are skilled at managing a variety of events and keeping everything meticulously organised and on budget.
  • Relationship management and teamwork – you take a collaborative and proactive approach to managing relationships with colleagues, members and external stakeholders, including making sure everyone feels welcomed at events.
  • Communication – your written correspondence is of a high professional standard and you can adapt your personal communication style to a range of stakeholders.
  • Problem solving – you work well under pressure and can adapt quickly when things don’t go to plan with your events.
