Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Events Marketing Manager, Private Markets to join the Schroders Capital Marketing Team. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of the private markets’ asset classes and its target audiences (focus on institutional clients) and has a proven ability to develop and implement a strategic events framework. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Schroders Capital, the regional hubs as well as the events manager, who will support in the execution of events. In addition, you will build strong relationships with external partners to deliver impactful experiences that align with our business goals. Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyse data to inform promotional strategies are essential for success in this role.

The Team
The Schroders Capital Marketing Team operates as a multi-disciplined team, which is integrated in the private markets specialist Business Development Team and collaborates closely with the central marketing team and local activation hubs. Within this expertise driven marketing structure, you will thrive in a stimulating and collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will take charge of the strategic direction of events, ensuring they meet the needs of our target audiences while also supporting business objectives. You will work closely with including the Head of Business Development, the Head of Content and Engagement as well the Proposition Marketing Manager to establish the event narrative framework and maintain oversight of the entire event process. You will also closely collaborate with the regional hubs and the Events Manager to ensure seamless execution while managing relationships with third-party event providers and enhancing event promotion through the Digital Marketing and PR teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Event management: Lead the strategic planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of private market events, from initial concept through to completion. This encompasses both owned and third-party events, ensuring alignment with business objectives and tailored experiences that engage our target audiences.
- Budget management: Take responsibility for the annual events budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources across various events while monitoring expenditures to stay within financial guidelines.
- Audience understanding: Conduct research and analysis to develop a deep understanding of target audiences – with a key focus on institutional investors, however also covering professional wealth investors. Ensuring events are tailored to their needs and preferences.
- Strategic events framework: Create and implement a strategic events framework that aligns with overarching marketing and business goals. Framework to include process, cohesive event narrative that cover key themes, topics and presenters and follow-up activities, all in close collaboration with Schroders Capital Business Development and Marketing, as well as the asset class teams.
- Stakeholder management: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders across Schroders Capital as well as the central and regional marketing teams and third-party event providers to ensure alignment on event objectives.
- Promotion strategy: Collaborate with the Proposition Marketing, Content, Digital Marketing and PR teams to strategize and analyse event promotion efforts, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement.
- Event oversight: Maintain oversight of the entire events process, from planning through execution to post-event analysis, ensuring all components are executed seamlessly.
- Performance analysis: Post-event, conduct analysis of event success, measuring outcomes and participant feedback to inform future strategies. Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager to ensure representative MI events insights to be included in quarterly reports.
- Compliance and record keeping: Overall responsible for complying with Schroders' Health & Safety, risk assessment, insurance, and annual hospitality inducements for compliance purposes.
- Brand development: Enhance the Schroders Capital brand through strategic and impactful events that resonate with our target audiences.
The Knowledge, Experience, And Qualifications You Need
- 7-8 years’ experience in event management or as a generalist marketer with a strong strategic focus and a proven ability to deliver impactful, measurable results; open to candidates seeking to specialise in events.
- Understanding of private markets (e.g., private equity, real estate, infrastructure, private debt/credit) and financial services, with the ability to tailor events to institutional and professional (wealth) investor audiences.
- Experience developing strategic events frameworks, drafting cohesive event narratives, and building event agendas aligned with business objectives.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, adept at managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Analytical skills to evaluate event performance, extract insights, and inform future strategies.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and event platforms (e.g., Cvent, Zoom, Teams).
The Knowledge, Experience, And Qualifications That Will Help
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools (Cvent/Zoom/Teams) and social media platforms that support event promotion and engagement.
- Previous experience working in the financial services or asset management sector, providing insights into industry-specific event requirements with at least three years of private markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration across internal teams and third-party partners.
- Degree in marketing, communications or a related field; relevant professional certifications are a plus.
