The Client Relationship Management (CRM) team is positioned within the Distribution (Sales and Marketing) division and has a global presence with individuals based in multiple locations across the US, EMEA and Asia. The CRM team collaborates with clients and internal partners to anticipate client needs, solve challenges, and unlock the firm’s full capabilities to help them achieve their investment goals.We partner closely with colleagues across the organisation to achieve this and provide governance and oversight for the implementation of all client requirements and related controls, including the onboarding of new business.
We are seeking to hire a senior relationship manager to lead the EMEA team and drive the team towards our goal of enhancing the client experience and delivering first class business in a first class way.The successful candidate will be required to balance team management and client coverage responsibilities, retaining their own allocation of key client relationships.The role requires a deep understanding of the asset management industry, with a particular focus on institutional clients from a wide range of sectors and geographies with investments across the full range of available asset classes. The role will report into the Head of International CRM (Asia and EMEA).
Key Responsibilities
- Direct line management responsibilities for six senior, Executive Director level individuals, including all elements of day-to-day support, career guidance and professional development
- Manage the teams’ relationship with key internal stakeholders and senior management, ensuring that the team is appropriately represented and accountable for deliverables
- Ensuring full awareness and appropriate prioritization of the workload across the team and appropriate management of resources
- Initial point person for escalations from both within the team and across the business and to address these appropriately and in accordance with firm procedures and protocols
- Ensure the team remains versed in MSIM’s investment capabilities, enabling the partnership with Sales to explore business development and growth opportunities and working with infrastructure partners to design and implement effective solutions for these
- Drive the teams’ participation within global client experience and integrated firm initiatives and to bring insightful and innovative contributions
- Work in partnership with Business Administration colleagues within the team to ensure that the team is operating effectively within the appropriate control environment and to ensure that change management and project initiatives are supported
- Partner with Sales and Investment Teams in managing the relationships with a specific set of key clients supporting the resolution of client questions, queries, issues and concerns ensuring effective cross-functional coordination, enabling execution and problem resolution
- Assist with the coordination of complex transactions and client requests to ensure that these are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Host and participate within a range of client meetings and forums, from pitches through to ongoing due diligence
- Manage client complaints and risk incidents, ensuring adherence to regulatory and procedural protocols and partnering with functional teams across the business to address client concerns efficiently and effectively
- Directly support the Global CRM management team with all aspects of the function and to contribute towards the teams’ overarching objectives
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including within comparable relationship management / client service roles at peer firms
- Advanced knowledge of the investment management business, client arrangements and asset classes
- Track record of building and maintaining institutional client relationships
- Understanding of the competitive landscape and industry trends to identify opportunities and improve engagement with clients
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage organizational change
- Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to build relationships and improve business processes
- Demonstrable success with change management and innovation
- Proven ability to operate within a complex, fast paced and high volume environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to manage, engage and influence senior stakeholders and clients
- Methodical, logical approach with strong attention to detail
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- A second language (European / Arabic) is desired
