About the General Pharmaceutical Council
The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is the independent regulator for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and registered pharmacies in Great Britain. Our role is to protect, promote and maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and the public by upholding standards and public trust in pharmacy.
We are a statutory regulator established by the UK and Scottish Parliaments. Our governing body, the Council, sets the strategic direction of the organisation and ensures it fulfils its duties effectively and efficiently. To support its work, the Council has established several committees, including the People and Culture Committee.
The Role
The People and Culture Committee plays a vital role in providing the Council with assurance that appropriate systems are in place for remuneration and reward (for employees, Council members and others), and that workforce and organisational culture matters are subject to effective oversight.
We are now seeking to appoint an external member who will bring senior expertise and insight to support the work of the Committee. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our ambitious people strategy and play a role in shaping organisational culture.
Further detail about the Committee’s role is available in the terms of reference, included in the application pack.
