Fabricator – Plater Opportunities
As a Fabricator – Plater, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to support the UK’s submarine and warship programmes. You’ll work on some of the most complex and critical engineering projects in the country, helping to maintain and upgrade naval platforms that protect our nation.
This is a hands-on role where your skills in structural fabrication and repair will make a real difference. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team, contributing to national defence and maritime innovation while growing your own career in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
What you’ll do:
- Fabricating and modifying structures using various metals and thicknesses
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Performing structural repairs and manufacturing structural modules
- Operating workshop tools and fabrication machinery
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
What you’ll need:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Skilled in using fabrication tools and workshop machinery
- Experience in marine engineering or similar sectors (e.g., Royal Navy, RFA, commercial shipbuilding)
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
- Essential: Indentured Apprenticeship or Level 2 qualification in fabrication, structural steel, or sheet metal work
- Preferred: Additional certifications in welding or marine engineering
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
